Lincoln Public Schools families,
To help keep you informed of important deadlines and reminders, we will send you information on the last Friday of each month.
Each year Lincoln Public Schools sends out a District Perception Survey to various parents, staff and students in grades 4-12 to gather information about their perceptions of their school. Results will provide feedback to school staff that will be used to improve teaching, learning, and the school environment. In addition, portions of the results are used in the evaluation of many of the federal grants the district has been awarded.
An email from noreply@qemailserver.com with a personalized link will be sent to families on Monday, April 1, 2024. Students will complete the survey during the school day.
The survey will close at the end of the day on Friday, April 12, 2024.
It is time to schedule your students’ school physical for next school year! All students benefit from an annual wellness exam.
Families of kindergarten and seventh grade students for the 2024-2025 school year need to provide evidence of a physical examination completed by a physician, physician assistant, or an advance practice registered nurse to the school your child attends – or will attend. There are required immunizations needed for school that are given to kindergarteners and seventh grade students during their school physical.
All students must be current with all school required immunizations and provide proof to the school. There are many resources available and the school nurse can assist you if you have questions.
Please note that high school athletic physicals need to be completed after May 1st to be eligible for the 2024-2025 sports season.
You may be aware there will be a partial solar eclipse here in Lincoln on Monday, April 8. The event will start at 12:30 p.m. and end at 3:08 p.m. This is not like 2017 in that we will not see total darkness, but approximately 80%.
Due to the time of the day and the amount of training required for students to safely participate, we have made the decision to not have all students and staff participate in viewing the partial solar eclipse. There may be specific classes that participate during their regularly scheduled class time as it ties to science curriculum.
In addition, to help keep our elementary and middle school students safe we will have indoor recess from 11:00 a.m. until the end of the school day so students are not tempted to look at the sun and harm their eyes.
Go the extra mile – help combat food insecurity by supporting the Food Bank of Lincoln’s BackPack program. Lincoln Public Schools and the Food Bank of Lincoln invite you to help raise money and awareness for the program during the 17th annual Extra Mile Walk.
